📜 Today's Meditation

Psalm 32 stands as one of David's remarkable psalms of repentance, vividly contrasting the torment of hidden sin with the liberation of confession. Before verse 5, David confesses in verses 3-4: "When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long." Concealing guilt consumed not only his spirit but also ravaged his physical body.

But verse 5 marks a turning point. A resolve to confess, an action of concealment ended, and an immediate divine response of forgiveness. Between confession and pardon, no lengthy waiting was required. God stands ready to forgive the moment we release our sin.

We often hide our failures—for the sake of reputation, fear, or pride in managing our own affairs. Yet hidden sin festers, dragging the soul deeper into darkness.

Lent is a season to end this concealment. The courage to stand before God as we truly are marks the beginning of genuine repentance. In that moment of confession, a surprising lightness descends upon the heart.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord, I have hidden my transgressions for far too long. I have worn the mask of adequacy and strength, bearing the weight of guilt alone. This day I lay it all before You. The shame, the failures I have concealed—I confess them to You. As You have promised, forgive my iniquities and fill my heart with the joy of confession. In Jesus' name, Amen.
