📜 Today's Meditation

Proverbs 3:5-6 contains the wisdom King Solomon left for the young. In the original Hebrew, the word 'trust' (batach) depicts the image of prostrating oneself completely upon something—not standing by one's own strength, but entrusting all one's weight to God.

The expression 'lean not unto thine own understanding' held special meaning in the ancient Near Eastern culture of that time. While the nations surrounding Israel relied on divination and human cunning, Solomon learned through his own experience that God's guidance surpasses human calculation. Solomon's request for wisdom at Gibeon was based on this very principle.

The word 'acknowledge' (yada) in 'In all thy ways acknowledge him' means not merely intellectual recognition, but experiencing and confessing God's presence in every moment of life. It is an exhortation to seek God first not only in major decisions but also in the small choices of daily life.

This verse brings deep comfort to us living in uncertain times, even thousands of years later. It is an invitation to lay down the burden of having to solve everything by our own strength and to entrust our way to the faithful God.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord of love, I reflect upon the days I have lived relying on my small wisdom and judgment. Please forgive my foolishness when I was gripped by fear in the face of uncertainty and tried to make my own way by my own strength.

Lord, before this word today, I confess once again: I will entrust all my ways to You. Help me to become a person who seeks You first, whether facing major decisions or minor everyday choices.

Grant me faith to trust in You with all my heart, and let me walk in peace upon the path You direct. I hope to live this day in gratitude and trust under Your guidance.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
